Jyotsna is a Singapore-based abstract expressionist artist whose work is inspired by the ebb and flow of everyday life. From the shifting play of light to the rhythm of mundane routines, she transforms fleeting, imperfect moments into layered compositions of colour, texture, and form. Her paintings are meditations on resilience, renewal, and growth, weaving the poetry of the ordinary into something extraordinary. For Jyotsna, even the smallest gestures or overlooked details hold beauty and meaning, waiting to be distilled onto the canvas.

Her process is intuitive and alive, guided by spontaneity and the courage to explore. Each painting evolves organically through rhythm, movement, and transformation, as layers are added, erased, and rebuilt until harmony emerges. She sees art not as a static product, but as a living dialogue between herself, the viewer, and the present moment. Every canvas becomes a space where energy and emotion are exchanged, inviting reflection and connection.

A Fine Arts graduate from Stella Maris College, India, and trained in Western Abstract Painting at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), Singapore, Jyotsna has exhibited her work locally and internationally. Her paintings now reside in private collections across Singapore, India, the Philippines, and the USA, attesting to the universal resonance of her artistic language.

Alongside her studio practice, Jyotsna has dedicated over 20 years to art education. She believes deeply in art’s power to transform, to nurture creativity and self-expression, and to cultivate resilience. She encourages her students to embrace the joy of process, to experiment boldly, and to discover their own visual voice.
