Tim Porter

Tim Porter (1946) is Canadian painter, photographer and filmmaker. He is known for his abstract experimental work and his video art.  After studying literature and philosophy at the University of Virginia, he took up art in Montréal, Canada in the late 1960s.

Porter exhibits internationally, in solo and group shows, and his work is held in both private and public collections. The National Gallery of Canada holds a collection of 145 of his artworks. Porter has travelled and photographed extensively in Japan and other parts of Asia, as well as the Pacific. His studio is nestled in a small patch of green one hour from downtown Tokyo.
