Sothea Thang was born in 1983, Kampong Cham province, Cambodia. He graduated from Norton University with a Bachelor Degree of Architecture and Urban Planning. After working in an architectural agency in Phnom Penh (2007-2009), Sothea became a self-taught artist in 2009. He currently lives and works in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Sothea’s paintings, sculptures and installations are filled with a sense of freedom and exploration. His creativity mixed with architectural influences allows him to animate traditional materials and natural forms in new ways, connecting audiences with history and finding new uses of space.
